However, that doesn’t mean one cannot enjoy the occasional bouquet to brighten their day or a colorful pot of flowers to enliven their living or working space.

1. Orchids
The thought of caring for orchids intimidates many people. Their delicate flowers make the plant seem like it’s too fragile and difficult to keep alive.
The truth is – orchids are quite resilient and not difficult to maintain. Orchids require just a little bit of sunlight, and it’s not so important where you place them in your home. As far as watering, all you have to do is once a week put one ice cube in the pot. Orchids will actually survive being under-watered more often than being over-watered.
2. Birds of Paradise

The soil should be kept moist all spring and summer, but allow it to dry out slightly between watering it in the fall and winter. Provide sufficient light indoors, and keep the plant by the sunniest window during the winter.

3. Cacti
A cactus needs some loving care when it’s growing, but once it’s matured, it only needs to be watered when the soil has dried out. The beauty of many cacti comes alive when they bloom – and many varieties do actually have blooms.
Cacti tend to prefer small amounts of water more frequently. Your cactus wants light, so keep it in your sunniest room; if it starts to lean in one direction, simply rotate the pot.
4. Bamboo
Bamboo is extremely easy to care for; it doesn’t need any soil, pruning or upkeep, all it needs is water. If you’re looking for something appealing that requires minimal work – bamboo is your plant.
Bamboo thrives in bright light, but it doesn’t have to be direct sunlight. As far as watering, just change their water once a week. You’ll know if it needs more water when the leaves start to curl.
