Unique Valentine's Flower Display Ideas For Your Store

Valentine’s Day is all about romance, and who speaks the most romantic language? Flowers!

So, for the Day of Love, create something special in your flower shop, and let the display speak of love and romance!

Also, your store display for Valentine's is competing with every other store around, so you want to attract people’s attention and stand out from the rest.

How do you make sure your Valentine’s flower display is superb?

It definitely takes more than adding pink confetti and heart balloons, so here are some design techniques and a few ideas that will add originality to your display and attract customers.

Color

Color tends to be the first thing people notice, and can make a big difference to your display.

Work with two or three colors so your display does not look overwhelming. Still, think outside the box and how to create a display that’s different yet epitomizes Valentine's Day.

Let your display be refreshing and daring by changing the traditional colors. Why not try red and black, or fuchsia and black for a seductive look and a touch of magic?

Another fun color combination is brown and pink, if you want to make your display feel more young and romantic. Also, experiment with metallic tones. A gold and white scheme speaks of sophistication and elegance; silver can add a touch of enchantment to so many colors, including red or pink.

Remember to stick to two or three colors though, especially for smaller displays.

Props and General Display Tips

Use props in unique ways to design an attractive and unforgettable display by creating a certain mood – in this case, romantic, sweet, alluring.

For instance, use old mannequins, painted in pink, silver or gold, and playfully arrange individual flowers or bouquets in vases around them. Or, arrange roses and other elegant flowers in Chinese take-out boxes. Think: eye-catching and different!

Another wonderful idea is to set a romantic dinner or bedroom display (if space allows) and other items that speak of romance, and then fill the scene with lovely flowers. Other props that will attract viewers include decorative picture frames with your fresh, beautiful flowers placed inside, poetry books, a musical instrument, candles (stick to flameless for safety reasons) dimmed lamps or lanterns, or huge letters.

Pay attention to lighting. Your products need to be seen “loud and clear”, while the rest of your display can have some shadows and darker areas – so create mood lighting with a spotlight or some low-lit lamps.

When using props, this is the key: your flowers must always be the focal point in your display, and your props and accents should be used to dramatically enhance it and to direct viewers' eyes toward your flowers.

Finally, make sure there’s harmony in your display – use a pyramid structure. Position tall things in the background, shorter and smaller items in the front. Also, play with angles and make sure your product is in the front third of your display, but leave some empty spaces so your display is not cluttered and your audience is not overwhelmed.

Create an environment that speaks the language of love for Valentine’s Day!

Finally, the quality of your product is what will make your customers really happy. No matter the display, if your wholesale flowers and supplies are not top quality and in excellent condition – you will only attract that initial glance. Creative, exciting displays will draw attention, but if the product is not fresh and of good quality, potential customers will go elsewhere to make the purchase.
